Singer / Guitarist / Songwriter
Born on Memorial Day in 1971, this Chicago area native has been singing for as long as he can remember. Jeffrey started playing guitar at age 7 when his uncle gave him a guitar and taught him to play Wipeout and House of the Rising Sun. He sang in his grade school choir and started playing in Chicago area clubs and bars at 14 years old.
Jeffrey moved to Florida in 1989 to join forces with Tampa based Champagne Theatre. He went on tour and shared the stage with many of the “hair bands” of that era. Taking some time off after all that craziness and debauchery, he moved to South Florida and co-founded the band MASK with a friend who had a morning talk show on a local alternative rock station. Over the next few years they shared stages with most of the alternative rock bands of that time.
After another break from the biz and a couple years of making babies, he joined The Brass Evolution (Then, Hot Brass Monkey) to sing some of the horn band songs that he loved growing up.
A true rocker at heart, he then started The Jeffrey James Gang to play and sing those bluesy, southern rock songs that he also loved.
Jeffrey is currently performing throughout South Florida with the premier classic rock band MR. NICE GUY aka MNG, The Jeffrey James Gang, Black Water River (A Tribute To The Doobie Brothers), Jeffrey James Duo & Trio and The Brass Evolution.
Although his performance schedule keeps him very busy, Jeffrey has aspirations of producing an album of some of his original works. His debut album “Jeffrey James Harris” is planned to be released in November of 2017.
